Storytel

I would like to share what apps and services I use. Let's try it, I hope someone will find it interesting and useful. I'll start with books and the Storytel app.

So it turns out that books greatly influence my life. They sculpted me as a person. Almost all serious actions that I take in life are based on principles, and these principles have literary sources. Sometimes I don’t remember them, but most often I can find the original source and tell the story. Thanks to Bhagavad Gita, I became balanced, thanks to Hakagure, I stopped being afraid of death. Thanks to the Trilogy of Desires, I decided to become an entrepreneur, and thanks to Special Events, I wrote my own books. And this could go on for a very long time. Almost everything I know about the world and its history comes from literature.

I often don’t have enough time to read real paper books, so I tried listening to audiobooks by downloading MP-3 versions. But it became damn inconvenient. And after trying several applications, I settled on Storytel. There is a large selection of authors and books, excellent voice acting. Overall, I'm very pleased. Most often I listen to books on the road or while jogging. Books can be listened to online, but you can download them for offline access and listen to them on the plane, for example. If the plot develops slowly, you can listen in accelerated mode 1.25 or 2 times. You listen to them like tongue twisters. Sometimes that's not a bad thing.

In addition, I signed up for a family subscription (there is a children's mode) and for a couple of years now my daughter has been reading bedtime stories there. She is 8 years old, and she has already listened to more fairy tales than I have. This is cool because she has a much more diverse life experience than I did at her age. You can set a bedtime timer in the app. For example, set it to 20 minutes and the story will stop. So it's perfect for bedtime stories.

This year, we at Eventum Premo and Deep decided to give our Clients a subscription to Storytel. And I sincerely think this is a great gift. It's digital - no need to take risks with couriers. And this is truly a service that I myself use and am sure I recommend. My colleagues and I have compiled a selection of recommended books, so there is something to listen to:

At the end of the world I met Noah/ Irmgard Kramer

A touching story of a young girl in a strange, secluded castle.

And it's just another love story.

Don't get sick with the flu and more!

What do I talk about when I talk about running?/ Haruki Murakami

The hard-working writer talentedly describes his running sensations and tells many life stories along the way.

I want to buy sneakers.
