Among marketers, an Oscar-style event is considered, well, a big vulgarity. The format is clear and banal.
But these events are far from the Oscars not only due to the difference in budgets. By the way, about 10 thousand people are involved in the preparation of this ceremony, and this year it cost 1.4 million to put a 30-second advertising video during the broadcast.
What mistakes are made when copying a format:
1. Presenters.
They come out haphazardly, unprepared, damp, withdrawn, sad or stupidly cheerful, in poorly ironed trousers and ambiguous shoes. And this has a devastating effect on the mood of the guests: you cannot go on stage and mutter, “The prize goes to Vasya from the purchasing department,” unless you are Hugh Lowry or Pierce Brosnon.
2. Jokes.
“Since Vasya from the purchasing department has already received his prize, I’ll take this one for myself” - they usually go something like this.
A: “Since Vasya from the purchasing department has already received his prize, I really want to give this one to my mistress from the accounting department.”
The award ceremony is a priori a boring thing. And the main task of the organizers is to make it less boring. To do this, the jokes need to be truly funny.
3. Rehearsal.
Our ceremonies are rarely run to the point of automation. As a result, there was a little delay here, there was a hitch (the presenter, jumping nervously on stage: “Well, where is our dear winner in the most prestigious nomination “Robo-Potato Harvester of the Year 2009!”) and the audience begins to yawn.
And the original Oscar is really cool.
