They fight for it, they plan for it several years in advance, they wait for it, they remember it. “This is a must see,” we decided. And instead of buying new All Star sneakers and a new Apple Mac Air, we bought 2 tickets to Beijing, booked a room in the center of Beijing, got a visa with the Great Wall of China and packed a suitcase with several dozen T-shirts (in Beijing +40!). “What do we care?!” - you say. Let's explain. We will take with us our two permanent laptops for writing and journaling (two excellent and reliable Sony Vaios, because we will not buy a Mac Air), Fuji and Sony digital cameras and a digital video camera. We'll film everything! We will film the entire Olympics as an event! To be honest, competitions are not very interesting for us. How is security organized? How is the registration system organized? What signs are there? How many bins and how many toilets? How is the press center organized? How is transport organized? Is the identification system convenient? How much does the sponsorship fee cost? What does the sponsor get for this? What creative ideas have companies found to stand out? What kind of cars do Olympians drive? Whose clothes are they wearing? Is it easy for an ordinary Russian tourist to navigate Olympic Beijing? What awaits us in 2012? We will risk ending up in a Chinese prison in order to film all the smallest details of the logistics of the Olympics. We will interview everyone we can reach. From the organizers, police, residents and Russian fans. We will show and tell you what you won’t see on Channel One and RTR. Not the Olympics itself, but HOW it was done.
